A probable cause hearing on the felony charge was set for Nov. 7.
Papillon had been arrested on three misdemeanor charges of simple assault that allege he slapped a woman in the face three times and a misdemeanor of reckless conduct that alleges the slaps caused the woman head to bump the head of the one and a half year old child in her arms.
Police prosecutor Carissa Pelletier requested $25,000 cash/surety bail for Papillon, noting his criminal record includes a 2011 Somerville, Mass., conviction for possession of a controlled drug with intent to sell.
Stolen checks cashed
Police said Brian Lynch, 20, of 293 Rhode Island Ave., cashed a check stolen from a relative. Conditions of Lynch $1,000 cash/surety bail bar him from contact with the relative, going to the relative address or going to any St. Mary Bank branch.
