Police alleged McCormick repeatedly bought the property from the officers, leading to a final transaction on Thursday when he was arrested at his Elgin home in the 1100 block of Country Club Road.
About nine months ago, Schaumburg investigators received a tip McCormick was buying property already stolen from stores. Sgt. John Nebl said it's unclear if McCormick would then re sell the property, or had others do so. The investigation is ongoing and other arrests are possible, he said.
